Abstract
Inheritance of resistance to barley mildew was studied in hybrids involving the 3 resistant vars.: Arlington Awnless, Chinerme and Nigrate. These 3 vars. were shown to differ from susceptible Atlas in 2 independent major factors for resistance to this disease. Susceptibility to mildew was recessive. Crosses of these 3 resistant vars. with Hanna and with Goldfoil segregated out susceptible lines; hence the Hanna factor and the Goldfoil factor are not carried by Arlington Awnless, Nigrate and Chinerme. Crosses of Chinerme with Arlington Awnless, Nigrate with Arlington Awnless and Nigrate with Chinerme did not produce any susceptible plants, proving that these vars. have at least 1 factor for resistance to mildew in common. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
