Abstract
Cylindrical bodies in renal interstitial cells of dehydrated rats are confluent with membranes of endoplasmic reticulum. The cylinder walls, composed of helically arranged pentagonal tubules, may represent a molecular rearrangement of the membrane structure. The cylinders may represent a morphologic expression of altered ergastoplasmic function possibly related to the production of concentrated urine. Keywords
