Abstract
Two cases of septic arthritis in adults due to H. influenzae are presented, 1 with delayed treatment and joint destruction, the other with prompt specific therapy and good end results. Both patients showed evidence of concomitant disease. Six previously reported cases of septic arthritis caused by this organism are considered in relationship to these cases. Early diagnosis, adequate antibiotic and surgical treatment can prevent disabling chronic arthritis. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
