Abstract
Phase matched second harmonic generation was observed in a ferroelectric liquid crystal mixture. An electric field was applied parallel to glass plates of a homeotropically aligned cell in order to introduce a uniform alignment of the directors and the permanent dipoles. The phase matching was performed with an extraordinary polarized incident light by rotating the cell around the direction of the electric field. Keywords
