Abstract
Body weight losses of adult cockerels, during a simulated true metabolizable energy (TME) bioassay were measured. All birds retained their initial weights within 8 days when fed ad libitum. The results confirm the adequacy of a 12-day interval between TME assays. Key words: True metabolizable energy, body weight recovery, force-feeding, starvation, roostersKeywords
