Abstract
The presence or absence of dorsal root reflexes (Toennies, 1938, J. Neurophysiol. 1, 378) before and after painful lesions of 15-40 days'' duration involving sensory nerves was detd. in 33 expts. in 25 dogs. Such lesions have no influence on the presence or absence of these reflexes. At normal body temp. (39.2 C) reflexes were found in 50% of the animals. Decreasing the body temp. (optimum 36.5 rectal) brought out reflex not seen at normal temp. or increased the size of the reflex seen at normal body temp. in all but one animal. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
