Abstract
The author''s macro oxidative procedure (Am. J. Clin. Pathol., 33: 209-215, 1963) for total serum bilirubin has been adpated for semi-micro and micro serum volume. Centrifugation is used in place of filtration. Heat generated by centrifugal speed accelerates the oxidation reaction. By the end of the spinning cycle the reaction is complete. A stable premixed reagent is added to serum. The mixture centrifuge and absorbance of blue-colored supernatant measured at 640-660 m[mu]. Serum volume of 50 mlcroliters may be used in procedure. Results with micro volume vary [plus or minus] 3.6 per cent from macro volume (1 ml). This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
