Abstract
Summary L. ballum apparently was eradicated from a large colony of Swiss albino mice by feeding pelleted feed containing 1,000 gm chlortetracycline hydrochloride/ton for 10 days. After 7 days of such therapy, mice were transferred to clean containers equipped with clean water bottles, both of which had been sterilized by stream. Traps and DDT in runways were used to destroy mice that escaped while treatment was in progress and also to prevent reintroduction of L. ballum by the common house mouse. Keywords
