Abstract
The authors obtained brain images with patients in the upright position using a newly designed and constructed vertical MR system. They found little gravitational effect on brain structures, even in the case of a severely atrophied brain. Their vertical system was practical for routine clinical usage and might provide information regarding gravitational effects on regional perfusion and other aspects of brain physiology.Keywords
