Abstract
A sediment sampler has been developed for taking short, undisturbed cores in soft sediments. The coring tubes are specially designed for scanning of the cores by x-radiography before they are distorted by extrusion. The exchangeable, transparent coring tubes are made of plexiglass. The corer head is fitted with a flap valve. The penetration of the core sampler can be regulated by a stop collar and by lead weights fastened to a brass frame mounted externally on the coring tube before sampling. Keywords
