Abstract
Uniformly labeled glucose-14C of a high specific activity was supplied to growing cells of a species of Sorangium (strain 3C) under specified conditions. The antibiotic myxin that was synthesized by the cells contained about 10% of the 14C supplied. Because of its specific activity, the purified antibiotic could be used at low concentrations in experiments designed to investigate the site and mechanism of action of this compound with susceptible cells. Keywords
