INCIDENCE OF ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY IN THE CONNARACEAE

Abstract
Preliminary studies have been conducted into the antibacterial activity of extracts from some local medicinal plants from the family Connaraceae. Total extractives of four of the five plants examined showed activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
