Abstract
Optimum conditions for performance of this test are given in detail. In essence, latex (polystyrene) particles with a diameter of 0.81 [mu]/are mixed with a suspension of washed bacteria in a glycine saline buffer and, after a short period, portions of this mixture are added to test tubes containing an equal volume of diluted serum. The tubes are shaken, incubated for 1 1/2 hrs in a 56[degree]C water bath, centri-fuged at 2300 rpm for 3 min and read. Positive reactions are indicated by clear supernatants and negative reactions by turbid supernatants similar to those in the control tubes. The results are reproducible, easy to read and not influenced by spontaneous bacterial agglutination. Evidence is obtained by using this test which indicates a possible immunological relationship between various anaerobic diphtheroids. Keywords
