Abstract
Over 300 New Zealand earthquakes felt between 1846 and 1854 are listed in chronological order, and assigned to four magnitude classes. Brief descriptive accounts include extracts from unpublished and otherwise inaccessible sources. The largest shock considered is the Marlborough earthquake of 1848 Oct 16, which is wrongly dated and wrongly located in most published accounts. An isoseismal map is given. Amendments and additions to Part 1 are included. Keywords
