Summary: Three heavy chain allotypic specificities have been found on two of the mouse immunoglobulin classes, γG2a and γG2b. The other described immunoglobulin allotypic specificities in the mouse are restricted to one or another H-chain class. The possible evolutionary origins of shared or common specificities are discussed.
