Abstract
An apparatus for repeated cleavage of rocksalt crystals in ultra-high vacuum is described. During one vacuum cycle, 10-15 clean and `splinterless' substrate crystals have been achieved. The whole apparatus was made for use with a Varian VI-12 ultra-high vacuum system capable of reaching a pressure in the 10 ptorr range. Keywords
