Abstract
SbCl3 in CHCl3 with and without acetic anhydride when tested with various terpenes gives a succession of color changes as with carotene and vitamin A. In general the higher the degree of unsaturation the greater the reactivity, which is increased by the presence of an aldehyde, alcohol or ketone group. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
