Abstract
A new mechanism is proposed for the quenching of phonon drag in the electrical resistivity of the alkali metals. The mechanism is based on the anisotropy of electron-dislocation scattering, and is thus appropriate to strained samples. The theory is applied to the low-temperature resistivity data for strained samples of potassium. Keywords
