Abstract
10 simulating control and 10 hypnotic Ss were given a suggestion to negatively hallucinate. Heart rate responses recorded just prior to and including the hallucination period indicated consistent differences between groups. Hypnotic Ss responded with heart rate acceleration in anticipation of the hallucination, while simulating control Ss responded with heart rate deceleration during the same period. It is suggested that these differences reflect differences in the subjective experiences of hypnotic and simulating Ss.Keywords
