The Influence of Copper on the Protective Value of Decorative Microporous and Microcracked Chromium Deposits

Abstract
The effect of copper on the corrosion resistance of decorative nickel/chromium coatings is discussed. Particular stress is given to the marked improvements brought about by copper with microporous and microcracked chromium. Results are shown of the effect of the introduction of the copper layer within the bright nickel layer—the copper sandwich system—and the influence of microporous and microcracked chromium on this system.
