Gasoline Immersion Burn

Abstract
DESPITE its widespread use, there are few reports of injuries after prolonged immersion in gasoline.Case ReportA 12-year-old boy was trapped for an hour under an overturned tractor. His clothing was saturated as he lay partially immersed in a pool of leaded gasoline. There were no flames.He was hypotensive and agitated and had a burn, resembling a scald, of 50 per cent of the body surface. There was no apparent intra-abdominal or crush injury. Hematuria occurred and cleared promptly. Complete blood count, urea nitrogen, initial chest x-ray films and blood level were normal.Abdominal tenderness, nonoliguric renal failure . . .
