Some New Closed Sequential Designs for Clinical Trials

Abstract
A class of closed sequential procedures is described for use in experiments involving an "all or none" response. They have been derivated numerically by fixing the slope of the boundaries in the Wald diagram at 1/2 and adjusting the intercepts and maximum sample size. Their main usefulness is likely to be in screening the efficacy of new drugs against a standard treatment.
