Abstract
A rigid ion, second neighbor ionic model has been proposed by Banerjee and Varshni which is successful in fitting the dispersion curves of some zinc blende structures. Additional equations are offered derived from zone boundary conditions in the [100] and [111] directions, to aid in the calculation of a dispersion curve fit. These equations are applied to CuI and parameters are chosen which fit the equations and the physical situation better than those previously suggested. Keywords
