Silicon-29 nuclear magnetic resonance studies of aqueous silicate solutions. Part 6.—Second-order patterns in potassium silicate solutions enriched with silicon-29

Abstract
As with the preceding paper, this article describes the use of 29Si—{29Si} homonuclear decoupling for very-high-field 29Si n.m.r. spectra of isotopically enriched silicate solutions in order to derive structural information. Structures for ten species which yield second-order splitting patterns are proposed and two further singlet peaks are assigned. Computer simulations are shown to support some of the assignments. Chemical shifts, coupling constants and relative concentrations are given for all structures.
