Abstract
Reactions of Phosphorus Ylides with Transition Metal Compounds, I 2‐(Triphenylphosphoranylidene)acylate‐ and Methoxy[1‐(triphenylphosphoranylidene)alkyl]carbene Ligands in Complexes of the Type Fe(CO)4LMethylenetriphenyl‐ and ethylidenetriphenylphosphorane react with pentacarbonyliron to give the complexes \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}$[{\rm RCH}_{\rm 2} \mathop {\rm P}\limits^ \oplus ({\rm C}_{\rm 6} {\rm H}_{\rm 5})_3]$ [(CO)4FeC(O⊖)C(R)P(C6H5)3] (1: R  H, 2: R  CH3). By alkylation of 1 and 2 with dimethyl sulfate the yellow stable carbene complexes (CO)4FeC‐(OCH3)C(R)  P(C6H5)3 (3: R  H, 4: R  CH3) are synthesized. The structure of the new compounds was established by analysis and spectra.
