A short review on present-day knowledge of cortisone allergy is given and a case of a contact allergy to prednisone and prednisolone reported. The patch tests show that the strength of a positive reaction is influenced by the vehicle in which the cortisone is dissolved. This presents a possibility for further research with the aim of improving the ointment bases.
