Abstract
Residues of polychlorinated biphenyls and DDT were analysed by capillary gas chromatography for surface and bottom waters as well as sediments, from both Abu‐Quir and El‐Max Bayes. The relatively abundant pollutants were p, p'‐DUT compounds, particularly p,p'‐DDE, A gradual change was indicated between surface and bottom water levels, and it was markedly parallel to the EOM levels. Geldberg Index (GI) as well as sediment/water concentration factors were calculated for all locations. Keywords
