Abstract
In mice of the Swiss and C3H strains, methoxinine causes a reduction in the food consumption and a weight loss. These effects are reversed by methionine. Paired feeding shows that the caloric restriction imposed by methoxinine completely accounts for its apparent lipotropic activity. The toxicity of methoxinine is of the same order in both mice and rats. Keywords
