Internet Questionnaire and Real-Time Indoor Air Quality Monitoring

Abstract
Latest research supports the view that the sick building syndrome has a multi- factorial aetiology in which chemical, physical, biological and psychosocial factors interact. From these studies it has been recommended that one of the first steps for indoor air quality surveys should be a questionnaire. Using mod em technology workers' opinions and their impressions regarding the indoor air quality, any symptoms they experience, their health status and psychoso cial factors may be collected quickly and directly through the World Wide Web and Internet networks. According to the feedback given by the workers, measurements of indoor air quality can be directed to work sites where the workers have made various complaints about the air in a building. In this study, the remote control of indoor air quality monitoring, general communi cations and transfer of data files have been achieved by using remote control software through a GSM mobile telephone.
