Evaluation of all-plastic optical fibre computer data link dispersion limits

Abstract

It is shown that the anomalies in recently published all-plastic optical fibre dispersion measurements can be resolved by a straightforward theoretical model. The model is used to predict the data rate against distance limits of commercially-available plastic fibre for low-cost interconnect applications.
