Abstract
The male, female, pupa, 9th‐instar larva, and egg of Austrosimulium (Austrosimulium) tillyardianum Dumbleton, 1973, are redescribed, and larval instars one to eight are described and morphologically differentiated for the first time. The relationship of A. (A.) tillyardianum to other New Zealand species is briefly reviewed.
