Specific heat in a magnetic field: A probe of the magnetic ground-state properties of heavy-fermion Ce(Ru2−xRhx)Si2−yGey

Abstract
Specific-heat data up to 12.5 T are presented for CeRu2 Si2, Ce(Ru0.5 Rh0.5 )2 Si2, and CeRu2 Si1.8 Ge0.2. The behaviors with field of the specific heats are compared, also with susceptibility data. The possibility that the maximum in C/T, or γ, at Hmetamagnetic=8 T in CeRu2 Si2 corresponds to an increase in m* at the metamagnetic transition is discussed. Similar data for CeB6 are compared.
