Abstract
No heptachlor or heptachlor epoxide was detected in the milk of cows fed hay made from forage sprayed with 3.8 and 8.0 oz. of heptachlor per acre and harvested 7 days after spraying. Heptachlor epoxide was detected in the milk of a cow fed 1.3 mg of heptachlor /kg of bodyweight. Cows fed increasing amounts of heptachlor (up to 3.78 mg/kg of bodyweight) had concentrations of heptachlor epoxide in the fat-corrected milk as high as 5.7 ppm. From 0.3 to 2.8% of the heptachlor fed was excreted in the milk as the epoxide metabolite. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
