Abstract
The lipoproteins of synovial fluid and serum from 13 patients with various rheumatic diseases were studied by analytical ultracentrifugation at a density of 1.20 in NaBr. The total synovial fluid lipoprotein was 40% that of serum. Class-I low density lipoprotein was present is small amounts; class-H was considerably decreased when compared to paired serums. Relative percentage of classes-III and -IV were comparable in the 2 body fluids. The class-V lipoproteins of synovial fluid, which were arbitrarily divided into Va [6-16 Sf(1.20)] and Vb [0[long dash]6 Sf(1.20)], demonstrated a significant increase in the Va class lipoproteins. Keywords
