Talks on developments in exploration geophysics traditionally have been given at SEG meetings every two or three years. That tradition has not been honored recently. Except for a specialized paper on seismic data processing and analysis by W. A. Schneider (1971), there has been no review since the 1968 Denver meeting. In Denver, P. C. Wuenschel and his coauthors discussed geophysical research and progress in exploration from 1965 through 1968. Their account was published in the April, 1969 issue of Geophysics.
