Abstract
Three patients with juvenile diabetes mellitus were hypophysectomized and given 10 mg of human growth hormone daily. This treatment resulted in a marked diabetogenic action characterized by hyperglycemia, glycosuria, ketonuria and a deterioration of the well-being of the patient. Treatment with growth hormone had to be suspended in 2 patients on the 2d day due to marked diabetic acidosis. Keywords
