Abstract
Superconducting cuprates Sr2YCu3O z and Sr2TmCu3O z are synthesized under various conditions to optimize their superconducting properties. The maximum value of the superconducting transition temperature (T c) is 70 K for Sr2YCu3O z and 62 K for Sr2TmCu3O z ; which are realized after firing for more than 9 h when carbon-free starting samples are used for high-pressure synthesis. The enhancement of T c is attributable to an increase in oxygen pressure. Keywords
