Abstract
Employees can be a significant transport vector for chemicals from a workplace. Numerous such incidents have occurred resulting in the contamination of the worker's homes. Recent court cases have determined that such releases are regulated under CERCLA (Superfund). Preventing an employee transported contaminant release (ETCR) can be accomplished by good industrial hygiene practices. If an ETCR occurs an industry should respond quickly to reduce cleanup costs and prevent adverse health effects to the employees' families. Response actions should be designed to both address psychological and technical considerations. Keywords
