Concentration Polarization during Copper Deposition in a Convection-Free System

Abstract
By using a special type Haring cell, with the cathode in a horizontal position at the top, concentration polarization during deposition of copper was separated from other types of polarization. The slopes of the polarization‐time curves during most of electrolysis were greater than could be explained by what is generally considered to be concentration polarization, and the discrepancy is explained on the basis of the ionic discharge theory of polarization.
