Abstract
It is shown that the output stage of class-B and class-A amplifiers can be designed if the probability density functions of the signals to be amplified is known. For speech or music, the results obtained with this method are more realistic than the classical approach for sinusoidal steady state. The influence of overloading the amplifier has also been studied. Keywords
