C-Group Chromosome Marker in Long-Term Leukocyte Cultures2

Abstract
A characteristic chromosomal marker in what we have called the #10 chromosome has previously been described in several Burkitt lymphoma cell lines. It is reported here in high frequency in cell lines established from peripheral leukocytes of 3 patients with acute infectious mononucleosis, and in very low frequency in lines from 4 healthy donors. The cause for this marker chromosome and its possible relationship to the EB virus observed in many of these cultures are discussed.
