Abstract
Expressions are developed for the orientation dependence of the nuclear quadrupole spin-lattice relaxation in crystals. Restrictions imposed by crystal symmetry are tabulated for the thirty-two nonmagnetic point groups. The possibility of distinguishing between different relaxation processes by means of orientation measurements is discussed. Previous experimental work is briefly reviewed. Keywords
