Abstract
The management of nonneoplastic parotid disease is reviewed. A variety of inflammatory diseases have been treated with success surgically. Surgery is generally reserved for those cases where conservative clinical measures have failed. Chronic inflammatory disease may simulate a parotid tumor, and in selected cases, excision with preservation of the facial nerve is diagnostic as well as therapeutic. Keywords
