Abstract
The changes in the Thymus gland during the regenerative growth of the liver after partital hepatectomy in rats was described. The thymus gland showed an in volution which was verified by an examination of the 3H-thymidine incorporation and of the histological changes in the organ. Chronological analysis of the changes in the thymus gland and liver tissue clearly showed that the thymus involution is not an effect of rapid regenerative growth in liver, but a concomitant symptom of the limitation and the stop of the regenerative growth by adrenocortical hormons. Keywords
