Palladium Electrode in Oxygen Saturated Solutions: Rest Potentials in Solutions of Different pH

Abstract
Rest potentials, , at palladium electrodes in aqueous solutions are studied over the entire pH range and at different oxygen partial pressures. is −65 mV in acid solutions and −35 mV in alkaline solutions. In both solutions, . Rest potentials are corrosion potentials with oxygen reduction and Pd dissolution as the cathodic and anodic components of the corrosion potentials, respectively.
