Abstract
Sixteen reports of cases of bleeding arising within pseudocysts were described. The source of bleeding was found only at autopsy in 3. This diagnosis should be considered among rare causes of gastrointestinal bleeding. Mortality of bleeding was 56% and death was the outcome in most patients treated conservatively. Survival rate was highest in patients who were operated upon for control of bleeding. Bleeding from pseudocysts, whether spontaneous or after any drainage procedure, should be controlled by prompt operation. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
