Abstract
A series of six patients had foreign bodies (sheared or broken intravenous lines) lying free in the circulation. "Nonsurgical" transvenous removal was accomplished successfully using a wire snare. Sites of foreign body embolism and subsequent removal included the superior vena cava, the right atrium, the right ventricle, and the pulmonary artery. Keywords
