Abstract
A glassy alloy in ribbon form with the composition Fe40 Ni 40P14B6 (METGLASR 2826), obtained by rapid quenching from the liquid, has been investigated using a ferromagnetic resonance technique (300–700 K) and a B‐H hysteresigraph. The observed room temperature values for the saturation magnetization Ms, the g‐factor and the coercivity Hc are 630 G, 2.05 and 35 mOe respectively. A uniaxial magnetic anisotropy (Ku=1.5×104 erg/cm3 at 300 K) is found to be directed along the ribbon axis and varies as M2 s. The dc coercivity data are discussed in terms of a recent theory. Keywords
