Simultaneous propagation of heat waves induced by sawteeth and electron cyclotron heating power modulation in the RTP tokamak

Abstract
The incremental electron heat diffusivity is determined in Rijnhuizen Tokamak Project plasmas by measurements of simultaneous heat pulses due to (1) the sawtooth instability and (2) modulated electron cyclotron heating. No systematic difference is observed between the two measured values, which are both significantly larger (/=2-4) than the diffusivity obtained from power balance analysis, .
