Simultaneous propagation of heat waves induced by sawteeth and electron cyclotron heating power modulation in the RTP tokamak

Abstract
The incremental electron heat diffusivity χinc is determined in Rijnhuizen Tokamak Project plasmas by measurements of simultaneous heat pulses due to (1) the sawtooth instability and (2) modulated electron cyclotron heating. No systematic difference is observed between the two measured χinc values, which are both significantly larger (χinc/χePB=2-4) than the diffusivity obtained from power balance analysis, χePB.
