Abstract
The effects of various elements found in fish muscle on the measurement of lead and cadmium by atomic absorption spectrophotometry in either an aqueous or an organic solvent system were evaluated. Although a number of elements altered the measurement, the composite effect for both cadmium and lead in either solvent system was <± 10%. The extent of interference of all added elements was found to be a function of the amount of lead or cadmium present. Keywords
